Vanguard Concerts is a non-profit organization founded in 1962 to present an annual international chamber music series at The Dayton Art Institute.

The fifth and final performance in the Vanguard Concerts' 2009-2010 International Season is the St. Petersburg String Quartet. These Russian performers were found in 1985 at what was then the Leningrad Conservatory. The St. Petersburg String Quartet moved to the United States in 1997 and earned a Grammy nomination for "Best Record of the Month."
