Summit Choral Society produces and presents quality performances of distinguished choral music for the enrichment, enjoyment and education of its singers, patrons and the greater Akron community. SCS proudly presents a 5 concert season including concerts of the Masterworks Chorale, the Children's Choir program, and combined performances featuring both groups. The Masterworks Chorale is made up of dedicated men and women, brought together by their love of the choral art and the sheer joy and pleasure found in bringing to our audiences masterworks from across the centuries and from all over the world. Masterworks Choral presents concerts in the fall, at the holiday season and in the spring. SCS Children's Choir Program exists to provide the highest quality music education to singers from first grade and up. Through its emphasis on the Kodaly philosophy of music education, the program endeavors to enrich the lives of children and youth from all backgrounds. The Children's Choir Program presents concerts around the holidays and in the spring, allowing these student singers to demonstrate their vocal growth, musical maturity, and collective vocal artistry.
