Central Ohio Orchid Society

About the Presenter:

Established in 1959, the Central Ohio Orchid Society (COOS) is a Nonprofit Organization affiliated with the American Orchid Society (AOS) and the Mid-American Orchid Congress (MAOC). Our primary mission is that of education: educating society members, other horticultural groups, and the general public in all aspects of orchid care, culture, biology, and preservation. The Central Ohio Orchid Society has a deep commitment to our goals as a society, which are three-fold: Learn. Grow. Share. We meet almost monthly to learn about preserving and extending knowledge concerning the culture, enjoyment, and public display of orchids. Our guest speakers include renowned orchid scholars and suppliers, giving us ample opportunities to learn about and purchase all things orchid-related. Collectively we enjoy supporting our members' success in, and knowledge of, orchid raising, cultivation, and habitat concerns. Providing those interested in orchids the opportunity to network and collaborate with other enthusiasts furthers our mission of sharing. Meetings are both virtual on Zoom and in-person at the Franklin Park Conservatory. We typically meet the 3rd Thursdays of all months except August and December, and we have an annual picnic and awards banquet. Please visit our website for information about joining COOS, our event calendar, and see our galleries of award-winning orchids!
