Gateway Arts Council

Gateway Arts Council’s mission is to promote the accessibility, creation, presentation, and preservation of artistic/cultural resources for the benefit, enjoyment and enrichment of the Shelby County community.

To fulfill that mission, we offer many programs and services, some of which includes:

· Youth Education Series - This series of performances and activities for children exposes our community's youth to the visual, performing, literary and musical arts through plays, musicals, concerts and day camps.

·Art Camp and Art Alive - Gateway Arts Council spends two weeks in the summer and two days a month with Gateway Youth Services. The goal is to make the arts accessible to at-risk youth. By introducing these children to various types of art and methods of creating art, we are providing them with tools to effectively express themselves.

·Spring Fling Fine Art Exhibit - This annual, juried art show attracts some of the finest artists from throughout western Ohio. Additionally, Gateway Arts Council invties area third-graders to tours the show. These children are exposed to an artist at work, and learn about various techniques, styles, mediums and elements of art.

·Music Matters Program & Recital - Gateway Arts Council provides musical instruments to students interested in participating in their school's band or orchestra program, but lack the resources to buy their own. In addition, we invite these and other music students to share their talents with the community in a spring recital.

·Presents Series - Gateway Arts Council presents two to three shows for adults and families. Past acts have included Tom Mullica's Tribute to Red Skelton and the Glenn Miller Orchestra.
