North Market is Columbus’ only public market and has been home to butchers, bakers, candy makers, fishmongers, greengrocers and restaurateurs since 1876. It’s a great place to shop, eat, mingle and people-watch.
Open 7 days a week and home year round to 35 merchants, the building at 59 Spruce Street resembles a turn-of-the-century marketplace. North Market is the perfect place to shop for the highest quality fresh gourmet meats, cheeses, fish, baked goods, produce, ethnic foods, coffee, ice cream, eggs, chocolate, wine, beer, sushi and local culinary souvenirs. The merchant family is augmented during growing season on Saturdays with nearly 25 farmers who sell homegrown produce, flowers, plants, and herbs. On Artisan Sundays, the first and third Sunday from May through October dozens of local artisans display their wares. Seasonal weekend food festivals take place throughout the year.
The North Market is open Tuesday-Friday 9 am-7 pm, Saturday 8 am-5 pm, and Sunday Noon-5 pm. Parking costs $1.00/hour for two hours and $2.00/hour after with a validation stamp from a North Market merchant. For more information visit www.northmarket.com.
