About:

Come to the Schoenbrunn Amphitheatre in New Philadelphia, Ohio, and see these wonderful outdoor dramas:

TRUMPET IN THE LAND, this year in its 44th season, is an unforgettable production that sweeps you back in history to a time when Ohio was the western frontier of America, to witness the founding of Ohio’s first settlement, Schoenbrunn, in 1772. Written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Paul Green, TRUMPET uses a cast and crew of over 50 people to bring this epic production to life. Professional actors, singers and dancers, horses, battle pyrotechnics and a state-of-the-art sound system combine for an outstanding evening of family entertainment.

THE WHITE SAVAGE tells the tale of Simon Girty, a man that history has labeled, justly or unjustly, as a “savage” due to his alliance with the Native Americans and the British during the American Revolution. His name brought fear to all along the frontier in the late eighteenth century. Written by Joseph Bonamico and Mark Durbin, THE WHITE SAVAGE is the story of a very complex, misunderstood man in an extraordinary and explosive period of history.

Also this summer: the incomparable LES MISERABLES, for four performances only!

After the summer is over, enjoy our fall season, anchored in October by Bram Stoker's DRACULA. You haven't experience Dracula until you have seen it on our outdoor stage!
