Trained as a trumpet player in New Orleans by his uncle, Chief Xiah aTunde Adjuah (formerly Christian Scott) has created a new style of jazz. "Stretch music," he calls it, is “a jazz rooted, genre blind musical form that attempts to ‘stretch’ jazz’s rhythmic, melodic and harmonic conventions to encompass multiple musical forms, languages and cultures.” A designer of apps and instruments and collaborator with the likes of Prince and Thom Yorke, Chief Adjuah has won two Edison Awards.
