The Musical Theater Project

About the Presenter:

The Musical Theater Project (TMTP) is a nonprofit arts education organization that shares and celebrates the history and songs of a great American art form. TMTP's concerts, school residencies, radio programs and recordings provide a seamless blend of quality entertainment and educationâ€"creating personal connections with the songs, characters and themes of the American musical while examining its cultural importance and contemporary relevance. Programs include: "The Song Is You!", a unique concert series in venues across NE Ohio that blends narration, live performances, and the use of audio material, still images and video to explore a universal theme or the life of an individual songwriter. "Footlight Parade," a nationally syndicated arts-education radio program that features archival recordings and commentary surrounding universal themes, musical theater history, or particular songwriters or performers. "Kids Love Musicals!", an artist-in-residence school program for grades K-3. Students sing, dance and act out key moments from "Cinderella," "Peter Pan" or "The Wizard of Oz" and explore how the themes in those moments are relevant to their own lives.
