The Ohio Watercolor Society was funded and incorporated in July, 1978, as a tax-exempt non-profit organization. It now consists of more than 650 members statewide. Each year a painting competion is held for members and non-members, juried by a nationally or internationally recognized artist. This is followed by a workshop, led by the juror, for interested members and, if there is room available, for non-members. Every 3rd year, a National Creativity Seminar is held at Sawmill Creek Lodge and Resort, Huron, Oh. In April, 2010, The Stretching Boundaries for Creative People VII, will bring 8 different artists from the U.S. and Canada,who will share their expertise in a variety of artistic techniques. Entry in this program is on a first come basis.
