Built in 1984, the Huntington Bank Building was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill from Chicago. The building is located directly across High Street from the Ohio Statehouse, on the site of the historic Neil House Hotel. The most distinctive features of the building are the multi-story interior atriums that have spectacular views of Capitol Square. The H-shape and notched back arrangement of the building façade make it uniquely its own in the downtown skyline.
The historic Huntington National Bank Building is next door at 17 South High Street. The early 20th century bank, which was designed in the Second Renaissance Revival style, features an impressive ornamental interior highlighted by a two-story lobby.
