""Reading a Garden"" is an art installation consisting of several components. At the center is an L-shaped black granite fountain. Parts of an abstract language poem, composed by Tan Lin, are incorporated into the fountain by stainless steel letters. Paving areas adjacent to the fountain, including a meandering pathway and stairs, are engraved with the other parts of the abstract poem. The installation includes two beds of gravel with trees at the center. One bed has a flat bronze plaque, with raised letters, to one end. The other includes a bronze ring, with engraved letters, around a tree. A cast concrete bench and coffee table, with raised stainless steel letters, completes the installation. The installation is completely handicapped accessible.
