Join us as three renowned local musicians will perform Tchaikovsky’s only piano trio at the Shedd Theatre in the Columbus Performing Arts Center. Admission is free. Steven Glaser (Professor of Piano, The Ohio State University), violinist Leonid Polonsky (Associate Concertmaster, The Columbus Symphony) and Wendy Morton (Assistant Principal Cello, The Columbus Symphony) will perform Tchaikovsky’s "Trio in A Minor, Op. 50" (1881-82), the only piece the Russian composer ever wrote for piano, violin and cello. The two-movement piece, subtitled “In memory of a great artist,” pays homage to Russian pianist and composer Nikolai Rubinstein, a close friend of Tchaikovsky’s who died in 1881. Free parking is available at the Motorists Mutual Insurance Company lot across the street from the venue. Seating is available on a first-come first-served basis. Recommended for ages 9 and older.
