Cincinnati Art Club

About the Presenter:

The Founders of the Cincinnati Art Club were some of the foremost American artists of their day. The first president was John Rettig. He was followed by Henry Farny whose paintings, of the American West, commanded premium prices whenever offered. Several years later Frank Duveneck, another giant of the period, followed as President. His name is synonymous with the art community of Cincinnati. Other notable Club members of this century were Paul Ashbrook, Clement Barnhorn, Herman Wessel, John Twachtman, Robert Henri, Edward Potthast, Frank Meyer, Robert Blum and other artists too numerous to be mentioned here.
