Meet the Columbus Metropolitan Quilters - CMQ - promoting the appreciation of quilts and quiltmaking since 1978! Our membership is primarily from Columbus, Ohio and our surrounding communities and includes men and women who are new quilters as well as state and national award-winning quilting experts. We host several events and activities for Central Ohio quilters and appreciators: two annual winter shows; a biennial spring quilt spectacular; a long-standing service project providing baby quilts to the Columbus Board of Health (CBH) visiting nurse program for new mothers; quilting demonstrations at community events; special quilting sew-in days, workshops, and lectures; and regular meetings featuring programs presented by local quilt artists, historians, and shops. CMQ welcomes anyone interested in quilting by hand or machine, in traditional or contemporary styles, regardless of skill, to participate in and attend these events.
