FRAMING TECHNIQUES WORKSHOP DATES/TIMES: June 7, 2024 9:00 – 4:00 PM LOCATION: Cuyahoga Valley Art Center, 2131 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221 COST: CVAC Member $75 Non-CVAC Member $88 BEGINNER – ADVANCED: Unlock the secrets of professional framing in our comprehensive workshop designed for beginners to advanced artists. From assembling frames to refinishing used ones, we'll cover everything you need to know to elevate your artwork's presentation. Learn proper techniques for assembling paintings and works on paper, including the intricate art of mat cutting. Discover the benefits of a DIY approach, empowering you to save time and money while gaining a deeper understanding of framing options. By the end of this one-day workshop, you'll confidently select the perfect mats and frames to enhance your artwork's impact. Students will be required to bring their own supplies; a supply list is provided below. SUPPLY LIST: Students will need to bring a sketchbook and pen/pencil for taking notes. WORKSHOP DETAILS: Refreshments and light snacks will be provided. Please pack your lunch for this workshop daily. If you cannot, there are local places where staff can recommend ordering boxed lunches. Students will need to pick up these lunches during their designated lunch. Payment in full is due 14 days before the workshop start date. All deposits, $50, are non-refundable unless CVAC cancels the workshop. Click here to learn more: www.cvart.org/scholarships INSTRUCTOR INFORMATION: Mark Giangaspero Professional Artist Mark Giangaspero, native of Akron & Cuyahoga Falls, studied and taught under Jack Richards, of Jack Richards Studio on Front Street Mall in Cuyahoga Falls, until his untimely passing in 2014. Mark has been teaching classes and workshops at CVAC since 2017. Giangaspero has shown and continues to show in National and International exhibitions such as the McDonough Museum, the Butler Institute of American Art, Viewpoints at the Cincinnati Art Club, National Arts Club in New York, and many others. His works, Mr. Richardson and Portrait of Chris, are in the Butler Institute of American Art Permanent Collection.
