Friends of Doo Dah - The Doo Dah Parade

About the Presenter:

Since 1984, "Friends of Doo Dah", an all-volunteer organization, has gained financial assistance from business and general donations to put on an annual parade to celebrate liberty & Lunacy every July 4th. The Doo Dah Parade is about political satire, come with a sense of humor. We do not charge an entry fee and there is no pre-registration. You just Just show up! There is a short list of rules on our web-site. The Annual Doo Dah Parade + Party in Columbus, Ohio, in the Short North Art District, is a celebration of life, liberty and the pursuit of lunacy. The one-day satirical party features a one-of-a-kind parade filled with characters in costume, humorous political debates, satirists' readings, a singing of the National Anthem, live music and a post parade block party. Line-up starts at Noon. Parade starts at 1 pm after National Anthem. Free music party runs from 11 am - 7 pm. Parade Route: from Line-Up on Park Street (heading north), to West on Buttles, to South, on Dennison, to West on Collins, to North on Neil, to East on Second, to South on High, to End at Russell & High. Walkers will go Down Russell back to Park St, Cars Will Go Straight Down High Street.  No Entry Fee! Just Show Up! Free Live music all day at the gazebo by the pond in Goodale Park.
