Karamu House is the oldest producing African American Theatre company in the nation. It honors the African American experience through professional theatre, education programs and community initiatives. In its 107 years, Karamu has been home to Langston Hughes and visited by many notable others, including Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Karamu has a unique legacy, integral in African American history and is cherished in the Cleveland community. Karamu is a non-profit organization that relies on community engagement and the support of its donors.
