AWTHS is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving history, research, and displays as well as educational programs of Southern Darke County, Ohio. Our late 1800's victorian house owned first by Louis Deitrich was a saloon and hotel. The building was purchased in 2004 to become the local historical society which features house tours, displays, and a research library with over 70 binders, books, and 4,000 digital photos. Several events include summer Coffee and Conversation series and four educational programs a year. This spring we are hosting a self-guided historic driving tour of old school houses in the area as well as a on-site tour September 10 from 2-4pm at Center School on Grubbs-Rex Road. We have a web site and are on FB along with a quarterly newsletter.
