A relief sculpture on the north concrete abutment of the Oxbow (Richland Ave) Bridge, one of two that was added during the rehabilitation of the bridge. It depicts the Marietta to Cincinnati Railroad that ran under an earlier incarnation of the bridge from the mid-1800s to 1900. There is an accompanying plaque that gives more information on the railroad.

"Marietta and Cincinnati Railroad The Marietta and Cincinnati railroad passed directly through this spot from the mid 1800S until 1900, providing a vital transportation and shipping link for Athens County. The railroad connected Cincinnati, OHIO to Parkersburg, West Virginia. Through acquisitions during the mid 1800S, the Railroad commanded over 170 miles of rail lines, from Cincinnati to Marietta and South to Portsmouth and Hillsboro. The Baltimore & Ohio Southwestern absorbed the line in 1889 and use these tracks continued into the 1980S. "
