This exhibition of works by two friends revolves around the act of looking. Inspired by John Berger’s seminal book About Looking, Gall’s fluid watercolors and oil paintings depict figures looking at art. On view themselves and framed by the gallery context, her figures’ poses and postures suggest either distraction or interest. Madden on the other hand is a master bookbinder who “looks good” at everything. Scanning his environment for materials, he finds beauty in what has been discarded or overlooked. Please join us for this captivating exhibition and for a look at how two good friends see things differently.
