Standing in the center of the atrium, Brushstrokes in Flight is a dynamic piece of art by the late Roy Lichtenstein, one of the most influential and innovative artists of the second half of the 20th century. Installed at Port Columbus in 1984, this striking sculpture is 26 feet tall and stands upon a five-foot tall base. Lichtenstein, an alumnus of The Ohio State University, described the sculpture, “I thought I could arrange (the brushstrokes) to have some sense of flight so they would relate to the airport’s surroundings.”
