Gateway to the Arts

Artist

Name: Robie Benve
http://robiebenve.com/
Statement: In her new series Close-Up Views of Our Body, Robie explores the wonderful microcosm that we unknowingly carry around with us every day. She's fascinated by all the things at the cellular level that work relentlessly to keep us alive and healthy, invisible to the naked eye, yet so strikingly beautiful and perfect.

Born and raised in Italy, Robie is a self-taught artist that loves to make and support art that is a carrier of cheerful and positive feelings. Robie lives and works in Columbus, Ohio and holds a Master's degree from Ca’ Foscari, University of Venice, Italy. In her paintings, she regards composition and tone as the most important elements, but color is Robie’s true inspiration and passion. She loves to use it in creative and unexpected ways, to convey even more a sense of wonder and enjoyment. When she isn't creating art, Robie writes about creativity and the creative process. She is passionate about sharing with others what she's been learning, and she authored many online articles published on Feltmagnet.com and other sites.
