Athena was the Greek goddess of wisdom, arts, literature, and drama. The material used in the mural is fiberglass formed over chicken wire over a wood frame. The color was obtained by mixing dry color pigment into liquid plastic and drying it on the form. All the elements of the mural are separate units assembled piecemeal and are symbolic of Athena.
