Charles “Chic” Harley was a three-time All American football player at OSU who drew record-breaking crowds to Ohio Field in 1916, 1917, and 1919. In the 1940s, Commercial Property Developer and 1915 Ohio State Football Player Leo Yassenoff placed Harley’s likeness on the façade of his new University Theater which sat directly across from the old Ohio Field on High Street, drawing a crowd of 10,000 to the dedication. “Terra Cotta Chic” was recently liberated by climbing over a restaurant awning, and is now free to kick a submarine sandwich football over the field he made famous.
