Suspended over the intersection of Gay & High streets, Current is a stunning sky-high sculpture. A true marvel of engineering and artistry, the sculpture is made of 78 miles of nylon fiber that will not snare birds. The fabric is intricately woven into more than 500,000 knots to stretch 229 feet across Gay Street. Current was commissioned by Columbus Developer Jeff Edwards, who has donated the sculpture to the Columbus Museum of Art, which will oversee care and maintenance, including bringing the installation down and storing it in winter to avoid ice accumulation.
