The painting depicts Abraham Lincoln's second visit to the Ohio Statehouse in 1861. Lincoln stopped in Columbus on the way to Washington, D.C. after being elected President. He wouldn’t start his speech in the Ohio House of Representatives until women were allowed to attend as well as men. The painting is on view at the Ohio Statehouse near the House of Representatives.
