Constructed in 1974 by the Borden Company, this building has a severe modern design with a dark glass curtain wall. Now known as the Continental Plaza, the building has an updated appearance and a lush landscaped plaza in front.
Across the street is the original 1865 home of Benjamin Smith which has housed the exclusive Columbus Club since 1890. Designed by architect Nathan Kelly who was one of the Ohio Statehouse architects, the building is a fine example of the French Second Empire style. The bricks reportedly came from Philadelphia and were shipped to Columbus, each wrapped in tissue.
