"There is No New Water” abstractly connects the human body, which is roughly 60 percent water, with the need to address water conservation. The sculptural, partial human form contains, in its belly, a component to represent a small reservoir of polluted water. This is the human form, as its own ecosystem, existing within and affected by the larger matrix of the global ecosystem it inhabits.

“There is No New Water” is part of Art Spot, a series of 13 temporary public art installations that explore themes around climate change and conservation. Featuring 14 artists and nine locations in and around downtown Columbus, Art Spot installations are in the windows of partner businesses and nonprofits through the first half of 2023. Art Spot was co-directed by Amy Leibrand and Stephanie Rond.
